Tinting Tail Lights
« on: July 01, 2012, 12:11:50 PM »
Hey guys, I'm somewhat new to the site but have used many of the mods on my black 03' 1.8t quattro. I have searched around a4mods and have not found much on the topic of tinting b6 tail lights. I'm basically looking for opinions in what to do. I recently did the joey mod to my headlights and smoked the side markers so the almost tail lights stand out too much and I like the mean and stealth look of smoked tails. I do not want the lights to come off with a cherry color but all black (while still being legal, Washington state is the worst on laws....). Anyways, the thing I want opinions on is should I smoke them and if so how dark, and should I smoke the whole tail light or leave the white reverse area alone? I've seen pictures, done my research and simply need a second opinion before deciding. Thanks for the feedback and I look forward to adding to this amazing site!!

Picture not from my car, but other cars I found while searching.

I personly went with the last pic. Left the back up clear. I think looks nicer. Just shade till the cherry is almost gone. Then when you brake, turn  its still plenty of light.

That's what I have been leaning towards. Thanks for the input. I've been giving my beloved Audi a makeover and I hope to soon have some pictures up. Just one of many things to do on the makeover list. Thanks again!
